What Your Work Actually Sounds Like
Your objective statement sounds like it was generated by a corporate Mad Libs generator from 2003.
Your Summary Is a Sleeping Pill
"Seeking a challenging position where I can leverage my skills and grow professionally." Congratulations, you just described every human who has ever wanted a job. This tells a recruiter absolutely nothing about you, your skills, or why they should care. You might as well have written "I would like money in exchange for work."
Fix: Replace with a 2-sentence pitch: what you do best + the measurable impact you've had. Example: "Backend engineer who cut API latency by 60% at a 50M-user fintech. I make slow things fast."
Skills Section: A Graveyard of Buzzwords
Microsoft Office, communication skills, team player, detail-oriented. You know who else lists these? Literally everyone. Your skills section reads like you copied it from a "Top 10 Resume Tips" article written in 2011. Listing "Excel" as a skill in 2026 is like listing "can use a telephone" -- it's assumed.
Fix: Remove every skill that isn't specific and provable. Keep hard skills with versions (Python 3.12, PostgreSQL 16, Terraform). Drop anything a recruiter would never search for.
Experience Section: Job Descriptions, Not Achievements
"Responsible for managing a team of 5 engineers." Cool, so was your job title. You've told me what your company paid you to do, not what you actually accomplished. Every bullet point starts with "Responsible for" or "Managed" -- it reads like you copy-pasted your job description and called it a day.
Fix: Rewrite every bullet as: [Action verb] + [what you did] + [measurable result]. "Led 5-engineer team to ship payment system processing $2M/month, reducing checkout errors by 34%."
Your resume isn't terrible -- it's just invisible. It blends in with thousands of other resumes that say the exact same nothing. You clearly have real experience, but you've buried it under corporate jargon and generic filler. Strip out the fluff, add numbers, and let your actual work speak.
